All books are first printings of first editions or first American editions unless otherwise noted.

Berkeley, University of California Press, 1937. Translated from the Russian by Dorothea Prall Radin and George Z. Patrick and inscribed by Patrick to Kathleen Barnes in the year of publication. Barnes (at one time the wife of editor Joseph Barnes) would, in 1952, refuse to answer questions as to her Communist affiliations when before the Senate Internal Security Committee (the Senate's equivalent of the House Un-American Activities Committee). Barnes had been on the staff of The Institute of Pacific Relations. Laid in are an unrelated thank you card to Barnes and a Barnes tax document. Boards show handling, but not wear. A very good copy, lacking the dust jacket. [#036107] $100
