1417. Davis, George. COMING HOME. NY: RH (1971). Scarce novel of a black fighter pilot in Vietnam, not related to the film of the same name. Fine in dust jacket. One of the relatively small number of Air Force novels of the war, and also one of the few novels of the war written by a black writer.

Performance artist Gray, who had a small role in the film version of The Killing Fields, uses his experience on the set and in Southeast Asia as the raw material for an extended, funny, reflective, inventive monologue. Fine in wrappers.

1515. Greene, Graham. THE QUIET AMERICAN. Lon: Heinemann (1956) (sic). One of the first novels exploring the American involvement in Vietnam and the theme, so often repeated later, of lost innocence and good intentions gone awry. This is an uncorrected proof of the true first edition, with an incorrect date on the title page. Spine cocked, otherwise near fine in wrappers. A very scarce state of one of the most important novels on the American presence in Vietnam.
