The title page lists no screenwriter, but Pinter is named on page 3 ("Screenplay by Harold Pinter") in the credits to appear on screen. A British film, this was Pinter's first collaboration with director Joseph Losey, and it earned Pinter a BAFTA nomination for best screenplay.
