GARRETT, George
Austin, University of Texas Press, (1961). His second collection of stories. Garrett is both a highly praised writer in his own right, especially as the author of a number of highly literary historical novels of the Elizabethan era, and was also the longtime director of the Hollins College writing program, which produced a number of noteworthy writers, including Annie Dillard, Madison Smartt Bell, and others. Library of Congress surplus stamp; near fine in a very good, price-clipped dust jacket, with open tears along the top edge of the rear panel.
