The author was a student of Indian folklore and married a Winnebago chief, Whirling Thunder, who provided the initial letters for the chapters in this volume. With 11 full-color illustrations of places mentioned in the legends, and numerous black and white drawings. Very good in dust jacket chipped at top of front flap fold.
