Five months later, Morrison won the Nobel Prize for Literature, and this first issue of the society's newsletter (the "Bibliography Issue," January 1994) features the awarding of the Nobel Prize as its cover story, including an excerpt from Morrison's Nobel Lecture. The extensive bibliography (1990-1993) lists books and articles about Morrison. Also included: a report on the founding of the Society; an announcement of the Society's upcoming first meeting; and bios of the Executive Committee.
