Self-Portrait with Cigarette
A self-portrait of the poet/painter, in profile, with cigarette. Colorful background, and matching tie. Oil on canvas. 18" x 20". Undated. LPC# 696: after the deaths of both Cummings and Morehouse, Cummings' daughter Nancy left the body of his artwork to the Luethi-Peterson Camps, a New Hampshire non-profit that operated summer camps for the promotion of international understanding among children. The canvas had been rolled for storage, with narrow bands of partial paint loss, but it has been expertly restored by Julian Baumgartner and stretched on to a wood frame. Fine. [#036318] $15,000
