Indian Women Chiefs
(Muskogee), (Star Printery), 1954. The sixth book by the Oklahoma historian, who did not begin her career until age 57. This book aimed to set the record straight on the role of women in some Native American tribes, by focusing on women chiefs and queens. Inscribed by the author, in the year of publication, to her friend, Virginia Dorsey Lightfoot. Only issued in wrappers; the prospectus is affixed to the inside front cover. A very good copy, and a nice association. [#036229] SOLD
