Deserts on the March
Norman, University of Oklahoma Press, 1935. Written after the initial waves of the storms of the Dust Bowl, but with both an international and historical sweep, Sears delineates the misguided stewardship of natural resources and the expected detrimental after-effects, not only environmentally but politically, as land mismanagement and personal hardships created opportunistic threats to democracy. Issued in several editions over the following half-century: the 1935 first edition is scarce. Near fine in a very good dust jacket with only shallow edge wear. [#035576] SOLD
