Signed by the author and extra-annotated: laid in are photographs, newspaper clippings and obituaries, a review of the book, a program for a commemorative ceremony, ideas for future writings, and a letter to the author from the wife of a soldier mentioned in the text. Although only published as a paperback, this is a specially-bound hardcover copy, perhaps done for the author by the publisher: hardbound, with onlays taken from the softbound edition.
