ICE T
The Ice Opinion
NY, St. Martin's, (1994). An autobiography, "as told to Heidi Siegmund." Inscribed by Ice T in the year of publication. This is the first book by the influential gangsta rapper, who went on to a career in acting, playing a cop in the movie "New Jack City" and starring for many years in the "Law and Order" television series. He was one of the earliest in the style of west coast gangsta rap, and influenced such artists as NWA, Eazy-E, and others. He took his style from the Philadelphia rapper, Schooly-D, so west coast gangsta rap technically started on the east coast, in Philly, just like modern graffiti technically got started in Philly with the 60s writer "Cornbread," and then spread to New York City in the early 70s. Very slight spotting to the white boards, and with a dusty top edge. Near fine in a fine dust jacket. Uncommon signed, especially with a contemporary inscription.
