Oxford, Yoknapatawpha Press, (1981). A collection of essays by the author of North Toward Home, among others. Morris became the youngest editor at Harper's magazine in 1963 and later moved to Bridgehampton, New York, where he developed close friendships with many of the writers living in eastern Long Island, including Matthiessen, William Styron, and James Jones, about whom he later wrote a book. Inscribed by the author to Peter [Matthiessen] in Oxford in the year of publication: "To Matthews, With affection and esteem, Your friend, Willie." Minor foxing; near fine in a near fine dust jacket.
