Frost provides the preface, "The Doctrine of Excursions" to this anthology from the famous writers' workshop, which he co-founded and taught at for many years. Frost won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry four times, more than any other poet, and read a poem at President John F. Kennedy's inauguration. He was the U.S. Poet Laureate in 1959.
