NY/Taipei, New American Library/Literature House, (1968). A Taiwanese edition of this novel about an officer stripped of his rank in Vietnam for refusing to carry out his part in the war, who is given a chance to "redeem" himself by aiding in the torture of a prisoner. It would appear that this is not a "piracy" -- as are so many volumes that surface from Taiwan -- although the "Republic of China Copyright Number" has not been filled in. In any case, an unusual edition of this early novel of the war, which caused some controversy because it was not written by a veteran. Very good in a very good dust jacket. [#031211] $20
