(Greensboro), Unicorn Press, 1973. Poems written by Berrigan while serving time in prison for his role as a member of the Catonsville 9, a celebrated case of antiwar activists convicted of destroying draft files in a Maryland draft board. This is an advance copy in wrappers, preceding the first edition, which was hardcover. Berrigan was one of the most prominent of the religious figures who took a stand against the war; his activism helped lay the groundwork for what exploded into a full-fledged "movement" of engaged priests, ministers and nuns a decade later in Central America. Fine. An important collection, uncommon in an advance issue. [#010336] $25
